The World's Fourth Largest Confectionery Market
The Russian confectionery market, today already the fourth largest in the world, is therefore expected to grow even more. 12 % growth is projected until 2012. Many confectionery producers who today still make their products by hand will invest in modernising their procedures and equipment. Industry experts expect very strong increases in demand for versatile small gadgets or equipment.
Confectionery made of flour have a long tradition in Russia. Tortes for example are popular gifts to bring to a friend, and cookies are traditionally offered with tea. In the confectionery industry, flour-based confectionery items are therefore the largest market segment, aside from chocolate, pastries and sugar cookies.
